Oscar Wilde's short story 'The Selfish Giant' is one of the most beautiful and moving tales ever written. It is an everlasting story that connects to people of all cultures. By sharing the experience of the Giant's selfishness, then a moment of realisation and finally his redemption, children and adults alike are reminded of the value of generosity.

The show involves a dozen children who play the villagers and the Giant's wall, whilst the rest of the audieince takes part as chorus singers. Wih beautiful period costumes, an ingenious set and wonderful music from Robert Hyman this production will continue Image Musical Theatre's tradition of providing the very best touring theatre for primary schools.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS
Kenneth Grahame
ON TOUR SEPTEMBER 2010 TO JULY 2011

Kenneth Grahame’s tales of the River Bank, the Open Road and The Wild Wood are all here in this vibrant musical production. We follow the lives of the loyal friends Mole, Ratty and Badger in their attempts to help the exuberant Mr Toad become a better creature.  Only when Toad is threatened with the loss of Toad Hall does he realise the importance of their friendship.

The first part of the production is a light hearted half hour rehearsal in which the audience is taught the choruses of four songs and ten children are chosen and rehearsed into small parts in the play.  During a break those taking part are costumed and the show, lasting 1 hour, runs seamlessly with everyone taking part.

THE JUNGLE BOOK
Rudyard Kipling
ON TOUR SEPTEMBER 2009 TO JULY 2010

Set in the vibrant tropical jungle of India and adapted from the original Rudyard Kipling story this production brings to life the journey to maturity of Mowgli the man cub. With loving care from his adopted wolf family and much advice from Bagheera the panther, Mowgli stands firm against the evil manipulation of Shere Khan the tiger. This production with its underlying theme of the importance of the rule of law is full of fascinating characters and has wonderful music from Robert Hyman.

Before the show there is a light hearted half hour rehearsal in which some children are chosen and rehearsed into their parts while the rest of the audience is taught four chorus songs. During the interval the actors and children are costumed and the show, lasting an hour, runs seamlessly with everyone taking part as rehearsed.

THE HAPPY PRINCE

Oscar Wilde's short story is one of the most beautiful and moving tales ever written. It is an everlasting story that connects to people of all cultures. The selflessness of the Prince and the Swallow stand in stark contrast to the indifference of the Mayor and his councillors. With the Prince stripped of his adornments and the weather too cold for the swallow their lives end but their spirit of generosity lives on forever.

Before the show there is a light hearted half hour rehearsal in which some children are chosen and rehearsed to play the towns people and other small parts, while the rest of the audience are taught the chorus songs. During the interval the actors and children are costumed and the show, lasting an hour, runs seamlessly with everyone taking part as rehearsed.
